PROJECT DESCRIPTION
San Rafael Reservoir’s purpose is to ensure a permanent supply of potable water to the City of Bogotá and surroundings while the Chingaza water supply system is being inspected and/or maintained or during a water shortage emergency.
The project consists of a 120-m high concrete face rockfill dam, a diversion tunnel, an auxiliary dam, a drainage gallery, valve chamber acces gallery, an inlet structure, an open spillway, a low level outlet, an emergency spillway, an inlet gallery and a pumping station connected to a water treatment plant.
