PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The project comprises the impoundment of the Porce River by construction of a 150-m high concrete face rockfill dam with a crest length of 400 m. The open-channel (chute) spillway is located on the left abutment and has a discharge capacity of 11,350 m³/s, controlled by four radial gates and a ski jump deflector for energy dissipation.
Other relevant works are: the diversion tunnel, the low level outlet, and the generation works comprised by a headrace tunnel and vertical shaft, and an underground powerhouse, cables and ventilation galleries, and the tailrace tunnel that discharges the water back to the Porce River through an open channel.
Upon completion, the station will have four generation units with a total installed capacity of 660 MW.
