![]() North-Quito-South Avenue NAME: Construction of the Transmillenium NQS Avenue between 10th Street and General Santander Police Academy. OBJECT: Technical, administrative, legal, financial and environmental supervision during construction and assurance of contractual compliance by the Concessionaire including a 5-year maintenance period. DESCRIPTION: The project included construction of ten traffic lanes (5 each way): four central lanes (two each way) for the Transmillenium Mass Transit System and six (three each way) for car traffic. Additionally, the project includes construction of two traffic bridges over 6th Avenue and Caldas Military Battalion, as well as construction of seven pedestrian bridges, five Transmillenium bus stations and one transfer station. The pavement structure consists of hydraulic concrete slabs both for the Transmillenium bus lanes as for the mixed-traffic lanes. The pavement schemes are the following: 6th Street Vehicular Bridge: A reinforced structure composed of two conventional abutments each supported by 12 pre-excavated 0,60 m diameter circular piles 36 m long. The maximum height of the of the northeast abutment is 3.75 m and that of the southwestern abutment 4.24 m. Between these two abutments seven traffic bridge spans varying between 30 and 40 m in length, for a total 232 m and average width of 36 m. At both ends of the bridge reinforced earth embankments will be built. Caldas Batallion Vehicular Bridge: The Caldas Military Battalion Vehicular Bridge is a reinforced concrete structure composed of six sections, the first of which in its east end consists of a 26-m long box culvert set as an approximation ramp, followed by four conventional spans supported by post-tensioned beams, each 30 m long, with three intermediate rigid-frame type supports and finally, at the east end of the bridge, a similar 26-m long box serves as end support, for a total bridge length of 172 m. At both ends of the bridge reinforced earth embankments will be built. Client: Instituto de Desarrollo Urbano – IDU (Urban Development Institute) Location: Bogotá D.C., Colombia |
