![]() Caracas Avenue The main activities were: demolition and removal of obsolete bus-stops and central median, repair and repaving of the six-lane avenue: the outer four for car traffic, the central two for the Transmillenium Mass Transit System constructed on white-topping concrete; installation of underground mains and electric power lines for streetlight and street lighting and construction of ancillary works such as sidewalks and a new central median. The project is 8.5 Km long, distributed in a three-lane each way layout within a 32-m wide corridor, including a 5-m wide central median. Ingetec’s task included supervision of the geometric designs, installation of water supply and sewer mains, electric power and phone cables and streetlights and street lighting. In the repair of mixed-lane asphalt concrete, 26,437 m3 of hot asphalt mix were spread and 9,940 m3 of reaming of the existing pavement was executed. In the construction of the central Transmillenium lanes, 24,324 m3 of white-topping concrete were poured.
