Yuncan Hydroelectric Project

Advisement and support activities were carried out during the arbitration that took place between the owner, a Peruvian state company, and international contractors from Japan and Sweden. Arbitration was performed under UNCITRAL regulations. The claims were related to extension in time for completion, decrease in productivity, costs, stand-by time, and extra costs incurred by the head office, additional risks and financial imbalance. The total amount of the submitted claim was US $32 million. The Court finally ruled payment of a mere US $9 million to the contractors.
