Misicuni Hydroelectric Project

During development of the Titiri and Serkheta transfer tunnel works and those of the main tunnel between the transfer tunnel and the intake structure at the Misicuni Multipurpose Project reservoir (a total
19.2 km), located in the vicinity of the City of Cochabamba, Bolivia, and as part of the engineering supervision, INGETEC S.A. was commissioned to analyze the claims submitted by the Contractor, Asociacion Accidental Astaldi – Ice, as well as advisement during arbitration submitted to the Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce with headquarters in Paris. A first hearing took place in 2000/2001, involving approximately US $ 3 million claimed by the Contractor. The dispute was ruled in favor of the owner of the project, Empresa Misicuni. A second hearing was initiated in 2003 by Empresa Misicuni, including a countersuit against the Contractor. The proceedings ended in 2003 in an amicable agreement between the parties.
