Guavio Hydroelectric Project Gas-Insulated Substations

Aboveground 230 kV Gas-insulated Substation.

Description:

230 kV SF6 gas-insulated substation (GIS) with segregated-phase. The substation has double busbars with transfer switches. The main components of the substation are:

  • Nine 230 kV transmission lines, 2000 A
  • Two 230 kV bays, 4000 A, for the SF6 gas-insulated bus ducts connecting aboveground and underground substations.
  • One 230 kV bay, 2000 A for the 230/115/13.8 kV, 18-24 MVA OA/FA station transformer.
  • One 230 kV bay, 4000 A, for the bus coupler.

Ingetec carried out the planning, basic design and was consultant during construction.

230 kV Underground Gas-insulated Substation

Description:

230 kV SF6 gas-insulated substation (GIS) with segregated-phase enclosure. The substation has double busbars with transfer switches. The main components of the substation are:

  • Five 230 kV, 2000 A, for the generating units.
  • Two 230 kV bays, 4000 A, for the SF6 gas-insulated bus ducts connecting the underground and aboveground substations.
  • One 230 kV bay, 4000 A, for the bus coupler.

Outdoor Substation at 230 kV

Description:

SF6 Substation at 115 kV with each phase independently insulated. The substation has single buss and its main components are:

  • Two bays 1250 A, 115 kV for the outgoing lines from the project.
  • One bay 1250 A, 115 kV for the transformer 230-115-13.8 kV 18-24 MVA OA/FA.
  • Three bays 1250 A, 115 kV for two transformers 10 MVA, 115-4.16 kV and one 115-34.5 kV.
