 Pozos Colorados Mooring Buoy The project consisted of the installation of a CALM-type mooring buoy with a tanker mooring capacity of 70 KDWT and a 2,700-m long F 24" x 0.500” submarine line connecting to the land manifold facilities.The system was designed to operate under a nominal pressure of 1.1 MPa to the tanker’s manifold and 3,660 m³/hour at a maximum permissible pressure of 1.96 Mpa to the tanker’s manifold.The mooring buoy’s hull is a fully welded 12.5 m diameter circular steel structure, 4.27 m high, certified by the American Bureau of Shippping (ABS), with a gross weight of 185 tons. The navigation aides consist of a radar reflector, a RACON unit and navigation light powered by batteries and solar panels.
