 Cartagena Refinery (Visbreaking Plant Upgrading - Detail Desings) The works consisted of the technical upgrading and refurbishing of the Cartagena Refinery Visbreaking Plant upon replacement of the current coil visbreaking process by soaker visbreaking technology licenced by the IFP, based on the following objectives: elimination of bottlenecks or operational limitations, prolongation of continuous plant operation to at least yearly periods, improvement of the unit’s production yield rates, and a 25% increase in capacity with respect to previous design.
