Prefeasibility and feasibility studies of the Caquetá River Development
Project, which included design and evaluation of more than 60 potential
locations for hydropower development.

Upper Caquetá Basin Hydropower Development Project.

Social component:
The environmental diagnosis of alternatives and the
environmental impact study for the Andaquí Hydroelectric Project
were prepared, including elaboration of the environmental and social
baseline, evaluation, assessment, description and prioritization of
impacts and design of the Environmental Management Plan. The studies
included mainly the following aspects:
- Social
diagnosis of the local population affected by the project. Fieldwork:
interviews and direct observation. Design and development of consultation
workshops with the community and application of socioeconomic and
land census.
- Design
of social management programs; amongst these are the population settlement
program and the information and compromise with the community program.
- Development
of the program for the management, technification and marketing of
chontaduro plantations in Puerto Limón.
- Extensive
cattle breeding management program in the Papas Valley.

The Upper Basin of the Caquetá River is located in Southeastern
Colombia, and pertains to the Amazon Basin; its headwaters are located
in the Papas Highlands in the Colombian Andes Mountain Range.
