Miel I Hydroelectric Project
The environmental, social and industrial safety control
management was undertaken during the project construction stage, by
means of monthly progress briefings to the client and quarterly briefings
to the Ministry of the Environment. Management included the following
main issues:

Verification of compliance with contract stipulations and in-force
environmental regulations.
- Control
of physical and biotic issues: management of solid effluent, recycling
programs, sanitary fill management; management and control of liquid
effluent, management of vegetation during interventions and reforestation,
rescue and management of land fauna, management of waste materials
from underground and surface excavations, quarry management, integral
management programs for work fronts, integral management of camp and
facilities; control of the environmental monitoring program (quality
of air, gases, flow, runoff), environmental and landscape recovery
of intervened areas upon completion of the works, amongst others.
- Control
of social issues: verification of hiring and job creation policies,
management of relations with the community, training of new personnel,
social well-being, archaeological retrieval during surface excavations,
information program and camp management.
- Verification
of compliance with regulations related to Occupational Health and
Industrial Safety.
