Water
and Wastewater Systems
INGETEC S.A. was responsible for the planning and design of the Chingaza
Water Supply System for Colombia’s capital, Bogota D.C., a city
with over 6 million people, and an average fresh water demand of 27
m³/sec. Chingaza includes a 120-m high concrete face gravel fill
dam impounding 223 Mm3 in the Chuza Reservoir, a 40-km long conveyance
system of tunnels and pipes, and the 75 Mm³ San Rafael back-up
reservoir, providing together 65% of the city’s water demand.
Recently, INGETEC carried out the feasibility and detail design for
the 3,3 m³/sec water supply expansion works for Bucaramanga, a
city located in northeastern Colombia, with a population of 800,000.
